David Stow

Father of David Stow David was of Chillingham, Northumberland and born c.1630 David is described in the book of Enrolments and by family tradition as a member of the family of Stow of Newton upon Trent, Lincolnshire and Ryton, Northumberland. The Pedigree was entered in The Herald’s Visitations of 1634 and 1666 and it was there stated that the descent was traced back to the Stowes of Stowe, Lincolnshire. David and his wife had the following surviving children: David Stow borne c.1653 – see note Charles Stow Granted freedom of the Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed in 1695 John Stow married and had at least two children George Stow married and had at least one daughter The source of information was a Family Tree headed “Stow of Melkington”, within John Scotts’ book “Berwick-upon-Tweed - “The History of the Town and Guild” 1888. |
