Nicholas was born  in St Michael Penkivel, Cornwall in c.1689.

Nicholas married Dorcas Benallack, daughter of John Benallack and Margery Ustick, on 26^th January 1711 in Ladock, Cornwall. Dorcas Benallack was the daughter of John Benallack and Margery Ustick

Nicholas and Dorcas had at least four children:

Thomas Gerrans baptised on 21^st October 1712 in Probus, married Mary Stout of St Erme, Cornwall c. 1755 and had at least four children:
