Stephen was born in St Just in Roseland, Cornwall c.1588
He married Elizabeth Cooke of St Just on 18th July 1613. Elizabeth was baptised on 28th April 1597 in St Just in Roseland; she was the daughter of John Cooke.
Stephen and Elizabeth had the following children all in St Just

Joan Hewgo baptised on 11th April 1620. She married Richard Davie in St Just on 22nd July 1647
Phillip Hewgo baptised on 22nd June 1623
Jacob Hewgo baptised on 10th September 1626
John Hewgo baptised on 28th November 1628
Grace Hewgo baptised on 21st August 1631
George Hewgo baptised on 19th January 1633/34
Richard Hewgo baptised on 10th July 1636. He married Mary Hennowe in St Just on 27th December 1671. Mary was born in Gorran, Cornwall c.1650
